After removing all internal walls to create an open plan living area our clients decided they would prefer to divide the kitchen and living area, so we suggested a double sided fireplace for a real wow factor. As we had also installed a home automation system this gave us the perfect opportunity to incorporate everything in once place.

The fireplace is back to back with TV’s on both sides. We built seating areas on both sides with black granite top. Under the fireplace in the lounge side we designed and made a bespoke unit with white lacquered doors to house the main speak and all the home automation equipment.

The fireplace is 2.4M long and is not only decorative. When the evenings are cooler but the underfloor heating is not really necessary the fireplace provides sufficient heat to warm the whole open plan area.
